Word, Excel, and PowerPoint start

Word, Excel, and PowerPoint start

The start experiences are the first thing users see when they open Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Based on usage data, research-validated user jobs, design principles, and metrics we wanted to move, I created a number of start page prototypes. Then, I conducted multiple rounds of user testing until we landed on a preferred design that's optimized for how people actually use the experience.

The new design – for the Word, Excel, and PowerPoint web apps – serves as the "blueprint" for other Office start experiences being developed for Windows, Mac, and mobile.
